How do I get the Best Rate for my Casita?

Book your stay on THIS website, NOT the online travel agencies like AirBnB or Expedia. Most charge cleaning or service fees. Check your totals BEFORE booking elsewhere.

Minimum stay is 2 nights, and on some holidays - 3 nights. 3+ night stays are often discounted! 5+ night stays receive a big discount!

 

How do I check-in?

Several days prior to your arrival, you will receive a detailed email from us with directions, instructions and a door code. We are keyless! “Check in” is on your own and is from 3pm on the day of arrival, unless other arrangements have been made. Likewise “check out” is on your own, by 11am, and directions are in the house book.

 

How late can I check-in?

“Check in” is on your own – arrive any time after 3pm. If you know you will be arriving after dark, please let us know, and we will leave the lights on for you.

COVID Policies:  We've been serving guests throughout this Pandemic, and in record numbers since April 2020, and guests have felt COVID safe. The Casitas are designed perfectly for social distancing as all units are self contained. We have no public areas where guests must enter or pass through. Therefore, we have no special cancellation policies regarding COVID; regular policies apply. We understand the concern around travel; but, at this time, we feel it is your personal choice whether you wish to travel when unfortunate situations arise, such as illness, injury or family business.

What are you Terms & Conditions?

 

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION FOR INDIVIDUAL RESERVATIONS

  • 50% of the reservation fee will be collected to make the reservation

  • The remaining balance will be charged 60 days prior to arrival

  • If the reservation is made within 60 days of arrival, the entire fee will be collected at the time of booking.  This charge may show as two charges equaling the total amount.

  • Cancellations made 60 days prior to arrival will receive a complete refund, less a $25 processing fee. 

  • Cancellations made 14-59 days prior to the date of arrival, may receive a 50% refund OR may apply the credit of the cancelled reservation to a new reservation scheduled within 12 months of the original arrival date. 

  • Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival, there is no refund. Early departure does not warrant any refund. 

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION FOR GROUP RESERVATIONS

For Group Reservations, see your Group's Contract. In the absence of a contract:

 

  • More than 120 days prior to arrival - complete refund, less the initial retainer

  • Cancellations made 60-119 days prior to the date of arrival - guests may receive a 50% refund, less the retainer

  • Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to the date of arrival, there is no refund. Early departure does not warrant a refund.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Check out companies like Travel Guard for an affordable quote on protecting your travel investment.

Items left by guests will be held for 30 days post departure and shipped to the owner, at their request, for a fee.

 

Guests are responsible for any damages or missing items in their Casitas.

 

Rates: are they per person or per Casita?

Our published rates are per Casita and allow for the stated maximum occupancy per that Casita.

 

Do you have Internet and TV?

Yes, we have high speed Wi-Fi in each Casita and at the Pavilion. We DO NOT have TV in the Casitas (with the exception of The Retreat and The Ranch House); however, the Pavilion has a large screen TV with 250 channels and DVR.

 

Do you allow pets?

We are DOG FRIENDLY!  We love dogs and yes, we allow dogs that have well behaved parents. HOWEVER, ALL dogs must be pre-registered and the dog fee of $35/dog/night + tax must be paid in advance. Simple, common sense rules must be followed and are provided in advance. Dogs may not be left alone in the Casita unless crated. If a guest brings a pet to the Casitas that is not pre-registered, a minimum fee of $100 will be assessed and guest may be asked to leave. NOTE: Frank, the Casita Cat, lives on the property. Please leave dogs that are aggressive to cats at home. Dogs only - no other species are allowed.

What about my Service Animal?

All Service Animals MUST BE registered. We do not charge for service animals. For Emotional Service Animals (or ESAs), we charge a discounted rate of $35 per ESA per stay. We only allow ESA dogs - no other ESA animals are allowed. All ESA dogs must have an ESA letter from their owner's heath care professional - email that letter to info@hillcountrycasitas.com or text a pic of it to 512.829.1558 to receive the discounted rate.

 

Do I need to bring sheets and towels?

No, your Casita will have everything that you need for a comfortable stay including luxury cotton sheets and towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner from Gilchrist & Soames, hand and dish soap, cookware, premium ground coffee, tea, cream, sugar, olive oil and salt/pepper.

Do you have irons and hair dryers?

YES! Each Casita has an iron, table top ironing board and a hair dryer. No need to pack that bulky stuff!

 

Do you have a restaurant?

We do not have a restaurant on site; however each Casita has a kitchen. BYOF – bring your own food! NOTE that the Casitas are 15 miles from the closest grocery (HEB) and liquor (Twin Liquors) stores. There are no food delivery options (like pizza) at our location.

 

Don't have the time to grocery shop or  don't want the hassle? Casita staff can pick up your HEB Curbside order and stock your kitchen for you! 72 hour notice please. Forward your receipt to us and cost is $50. You can also pick up your curbside order in Dripping Springs - just select and time/date that coincides with your arrival time. Additionally, all Casitas have a gas grill on the porch. We can also recommend many great restaurants in the area.

 

Do you have AC?

Of course we have air conditioning. This is Texas. Each room has an high efficiency wall AC with remote control. Instructions are in the house book.

 

Do you have a pool?

YES!!!! Our new pool and hot tub opened in Fall 2020 and is open year around! We also highly recommend swimming the old fashioned way – a Texas swimming hole such as Hamilton Pool, Blue Hole or Pedernales Falls State Park, all close by. 

Do you have daily maid service?

No, we only provide cleaning after your visit. A mid-visit cleaning can be arranged (additional fee) and for visits of 5 days or more, your Casita will be refreshed mid-visit upon your advanced request.
 

Can I use the Pavilion and Fire Pit?

When the Pavilion is not reserved for a private event, the Pavilion, fire pit and surrounding grounds are available to all guests. Note: when there is a burn ban in Hays County, or if the owners feel the fire pit is a threat, the burn ban sign will be posted on the fire pit. Typically, this burn ban does not effect our fire places.

 

Do you provide firewood?

Yes, we provide firewood for use in the fireplaces in our one and two bedroom Casitas, as well as the fire pit. We also provide starters and lighters to get your fire going. Extra firewood can be found at the end of the Pavilion. During fire bans, the fire pit will be closed.

Do you provide transportation?

We do not provide regular transportation; however, airport transport or local area transportation can be arranged for you – just ask. In order to enjoy the area, you will want a vehicle. Uber and Lyft are available in Austin and on a limited  basis in Dripping. It is best to schedule your ride. We also can recommend private drivers - just ask!
