About Hill Country Casitas

Our Story

The idea for Hill Country Casitas began in early 2015, when founders Ron Turner and Mary McRoberts were searching for a home renovation project. Instead, they discovered a piece of land they loved—and a vision for something more meaningful.

Rather than flipping a house, they chose to create a destination.

• Groundbreaking began: March 2016

• First Casitas opened: October 14, 2016

• 10 Casitas built in just 8 months

• The Pavilion added later in 2016

• The Retreat completed in 2018

• ​

What started as an idea quickly became a private Hill Country retreat for groups, getaways, and celebrations.

Local Roots & Hospitality

Hill Country Casitas is deeply rooted in the local community.

​

In 2021, Dripping Springs native Claire Bolton joined as full-time Property Manager. Known for her warm, welcoming style, Claire ensures every guest experience feels personal, seamless, and memorable. She leads a dedicated and talented housekeeping team committed to high standards of hospitality.

Meet the Owners

Ron and Mary bring decades of experience and a shared love for the Hill Country:

• Ron Turner: 33-year career in commercial construction

• Mary McRoberts: 27-year career in nonprofit administration

After retiring, they poured their expertise into building Hill Country Casitas from raw land to a premier, boutique resort guests return to again and again.

The couple met at a Texas Hill Country dance hall and were married in 2008. They have two grown children and a love for dogs—which inspired their dog-friendly retreat concept.

As long-time residents of Dripping Springs, they are proud to welcome guests to the land they love and call home.
